WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2004, Friends of Romania is a foundation that seeks to strengthen the two-way alliance between the United States and Romania in the domains of education, culture, diplomacy, and shared values. To fulfill this aim, Friends of Romania embarks on a series of activities that bring together the best expertise in the economic, educational, civic, and democratic fields, and lend this body of knowledge to the relevant interlocutors in Romania. A number of studies, conferences, surveys, and scholarships, both in Romania and in the US will contribute to this aim. Building community and strengthening ties among Romanians who live in the US, and between Americans of Romanian or Romanian-Jewish descent and Romania also figures high on their agenda
